She’s outgoing and likes to play tug. When she was a baby, she found ways to climb out of the incubator and climb over all of her sisters despite being the smallest of the bunch. Sometimes she looks like a polar bear.

NameSAKE

Back in the day, climbers would film themselves on routes, also referred to as problems, on Betamax, the VHS competitor. Climbers could share their Betamax, which over time was shortened to just “beta,” to help other climbers complete the route. Nowadays, beta is used to mean a solution to a climbing problem. Sharing beta can either be an act of kindness, or a flex, depending on the situation. Thus we present Ascent’s I’ll Show You the Beta.
